Australian Mutual Bank has donated its first trolleys-worth of goods to Barnardos Australia, to help them with their vital work in supporting families in crisis.

This year, Barnardos Australia has seen a significant increase in demand for support, as the surge in cost-of-living prices and shortage of affordable housing make it difficult for those on low or single incomes to make ends meet. With recent flooding disasters, interest rate increases, and the COVID-19 financial assistance package no longer available-more and more Australian families are needing help – notably many who have never requested support before.

Since September, Australian Mutual Bank branches are proud to be designated drop-off locations, and are encouraging individuals and communities to donate emergency relief pantry and other items to support this worthwhile cause.

If you would like to help donate to this food drive, please drop off any of the following items:

  • Canned food (soups, meals, vegetables, fruit)
  • Cooking supplies like oil and sugar
  • Pasta, rice, and noodles
  • Tea and coffee
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Household cleaning items
  • Pet food

Please note: donations must be in their original packaging, unopened, and within their best before date.
As more donations are received, Australian Mutual Bank will continue to collect and drop-off essential items, which will be distributed directly to Barnardos families.
